Railways are a very sore point with me today Dave.  Yesterday's 9am Intercity to Paddington took no less than 5 hours whereas it usually takes two and a half!  :cry:

luckily my journey to euston and back was much faster and was on time in both directions. meaning I had two hours to wonder (get lost) on the underground. lots of fun.

one thing i found stupid yesterday was the four first class carriages with no one in and i had to walk past each one.. what is the point!

Yes, you would think that as flying is cheaper than even second class rail travel, in many cases, that first class rail travel would have been discontinued a long time ago.  ???
