Title: Word printing problem - jpegs cause error message (I think)
Post by: Ian on June 01, 2005, 12:57
I need to print out regular letters containing a picture from a jpeg file.

On one PC it's OK (most of the time) but on the other one the paper emerges with:

PCL XL error

subsytem: IMAGE
error: MissingData
operator ReadImage
Position:1300

It does this from time to time (then is miraculously OK again) on PC1 as well.

I assume its the handling of the jpeg that's the problem - is there something i need to activate in Word to make it work?

PC1 is using Office 2003
PC2 (the problem one) is using Office XP

I don't think it's a "Word" problem. It must be a problem related to the printer drivers.

Try to reinstall the printer drivers, or reinstall all the printer software on the PC which has that error on.

Tell us later if that works or not. If not, we may search for you another solution.    :)

Which make and model of printer are you using Ian ?

Joudis suggestion about a driver problem is the most likely issue, I think.
Have you had a look for updated drivers for your printer ?
