Hi
When I open a file in for exampe Microsoft Word, there is a list of shortcut icons on the left ...
1) Recent Documents
2) Desktop
3) My Documents
4) My Computer
5) My Network Places
Is there any way I can change these so that I can have one pointing to a folder directly - one folder I need to access almost daily. At the moment I have a shortcut on the desktop, but it would be easier if I could add it to the list.
Thanks

Seems no one yet has answered you!
Well, in fact, I don't know if the reason is like mine.
I don't really understand how you can get that list on the left side.
In my case, when I want to have a rapid access to certain section, I add it to the zone of "Rapide lance" (beside the menu "Start").
Sorry not to understand exactly your request. Techies certainly will understand better.

Thanks Joudi
When you go to
File > Open, the box that opens has a list of shortcut icons to the left.
Thats the ones I mean.

Oh! I see.
That's an interesting question. :)
I hope someone finds the answer for you.
BTW. Isn't that a part of Windows itself? (Could that be modified?)

I think you can change them - if you right click a blank area of that panel, is there a 'Customise' or 'Properties' option? Haven't got time to check it out thoroughly at the moment.

Ahh - just worked it out.
In the open box, theres an option called 'Tools'.
Navigate to the folder you want to add to the list, select tools then select 'add to My Places'
If you rightclick one you've added, you can remove it. But it looks like the default ones (Desktop, My Computer etc) can't be removed.
I should have looked more closly!

You beat me to it :)
As well as that option you could do this :
Instead of creating a shortcut on your desktop then you could actually click on say My Documents from the list on the left and then create a shortcut by right clicking in the open window and then you can browse for which folder to be added in there.
This may be easier if you intend to have a lot of shortcuts opening from a single folder, called Shortcuts for example, inside My Documents, its just one extra step to having a shortcut on the left :)
