Title: MP3 players
Post by: nilsatis on December 28, 2005, 09:03
I have been trying to put some music from my PC onto my sons mp3 player but the certain albums wont transfer, it keeps saying error, Im guessing its something to do with copywrite protection, but is there a way around it?
They arent copied albums they are store bought.

Yes, some shop bought CDs do have copy protection, and some of them won't even play in a car CD player.   We can't really discuss 'ways round it' on this forum, as technically, it's illegal to copy CDs, but you might happen to find some clever software, like IsoBuster, by doing a Google search.  ;)

or there are cd rippers that allow you to remove the digital rights management.

Are you sure the format of the songs are mp3?? If they're wma, ogg, or acc the player wont support it, you'll need a converter. On your computer right click on the file and look at its properties to find the file format.

Not sure what you mean, but if you mean right click on the track it just says audio, the license states that it is protected content.

Bob may have been checking if you had ripped the tracks to the correct format for the MP3 player, but if I understand you correctly, you haven't been able to rip them at all, have you?  You will need to find some sort of CD Ripper which defeats the copy protection.
