Title: Backup question
Post by: daveeb on January 12, 2006, 13:51
G'day all, anyone know of a program that will mirror a hard drive to bootable multiple cds/dvds all from within windows.  ie so if my hd goes south i can just run along to the shop, buy a new hard drive then transfer everything back.

i'v currently got just about everything backed up on numerous cd's but it would take forever or longer to get everything set up correctly if disaster struck.  I do have a slave drive in this pc and had considered cloning the main drive to this, but its pretty full and i like the dvd backup idea if feasible

Have you tried doing a full drive with Drive Image or Norton Gost Dave ?

I think it should be able to span across mutliple dvds but you may have to reinstall everything and not just select which bits you want to restore after a drive failure.
