Guns 'n' Roses are highly over-rated, in my opinion.  Sure, they have some good songs, but Axl Rose can't sing, and Slash is not one of the guitar greats, when compared to the likes of Jimmy Page, Brian May and Eddie Van Halen.

Surely I can't be the only person on this side of the Atlantic to have heard Eric Johnson's jaw-dropping 'Cliffs of Dover' ?   :shock:

This track actually won a Grammy award for it's yummy guitarry goodness and is from an album called 'Ah Via Musicom' which was released sometime around 1990.  Just for good measure, check out the reviews on Amazon (where you can currently find a copy for £4.52 plus P&P).  It seems there are a few other people who also seem to think it's quite good too!

I used to play that with my slide  :ooo:


I liked "sweet home Alabama" better but couldn't manage that very well  :dunno:


And for the record i thought GnR were great at what they did  :wink:

if only all those songs where on guitar hero.. though actually there are some pretty cool tracks on that game anyway!  :thumbs:
