hi all, long time...no post as it were, any way!
iv partitioned my 160gb hdd so that iv got 120gb hdd and a 40. the 40 has Vista on and the 120 has my old xp pro installation. so i made the partiton and it seemed to go ok but Acronis Disk Director Suite/me has set the new 40 gb partition as Primary too, so when it boots up it just goes straight to XP and there isnt an option to choose which os.
So...what can i do so i can select which os i want before booting up?
if this makes any sence!
Cheers!!

Hi Jon,
Do you not get the option to select which partition when you do F8 as its booting up ?

Install this free program on your XP OS Jon :
http://www.pro-networks.org/vistabootpro/
Designed for both beginners and advanced users, VistaBootPRO can be used to make "cosmetic" changes to the Windows Vista boot Menu such as changing the name of the Operating Systems shown in the boot menu and make advanced "functional" changes like adding an Operating System to the boot menu and repairing the Windows Vista boot configuration data. Advanced settings include backing up and exporting your boot loader configuration and modifying various details for the entries.
That should allow you to modify the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store so that you get an option at start up for which OS to boot up in :)
