Title: Apple Battery Recall - Powerbook G4 and iBook G4
Post by: sam on August 31, 2006, 10:09
This is the Apple version of the Dell battery recall.  If you use a G4
iBook or Powerbook, please visit:

  https://support.apple.com/ibook_powerbook/batteryexchange/

It is expected that about 1.1m batteries are going to be replaced as
part of this exchange.

Note if you have a 15" MacBook bought between Feb and May 2006, there
was a separate battery recall on these:

In passing, I will also note that there has been a recent battery recall
by HP (Oct 2005):

Note too that other companies also use Sony as a battery supplier, so
there might be further recalls.  If in doubt, please check your laptop
manufacturer's web pages.
