Which burning software is mostly used by you guys?
Ive used Nero for ages, but recently been giving me problems loading Bin and Cue files. I installed the latest one-7 Ultra, but it made my PC go awol! Ive got more coasters than I know what to do with!
I uninstalled it and it left me with over 500 registry entries! Even though I used the Nero Clean Tool after.
It was like a Cancer in my PC-tentacles everywhere.
:ack: :ack: :ack:

I have never had any problems with Nero apart from just after SP 2 came out for XP the version of Nero 6 I was then using had problems erasing some CD RWs and DVD RWs.
I am now using Nero 7 Premium and thats been fine although I tend to just use Nero Express for most things.

Ditto. A decent registry cleaner, such as CCleaner will remove the detritus from your registry, then I would suggest re-installing Nero from scratch and trying again. None of the other alternatives I have tried have matched it for ease of use, or format compatability.

Thanks for replies guys. I think I will try another version. 7 Ultra seems to be rather bloated.
All i want is a burner-never mind about all the fancy bits and pieces.
;D ;D

When you install it, you are given the options as to which components you want to install. I think you may have to choose 'Custom' from the installation options, then you can deselect anything you don't want, like Nero Home for a start. You can strip it right down to just the burning software if you want to.

Hi, Delgado.
If all you want to do is burn files that are residing on you hard drive to CD you could do a lot worse than downloading the free version of Deepburner.
Deepburner download page. (http://www.deepburner.com/?r=download)

Appreciate the reply Dave. What Im trying to do is to burn films from my harddrive. Ive now found a copy of Nero 6, that I had on disc. Ive installed that again, and so far so good (touch wood).
Ive got an image file of Pirates of the Caribbean, that wont seem to load into anything-Ive tried Nero and tried Ashampoo Burner, but both wont accept the damn thing-the file is .img-any suggestions?
It would be less frustrating to buy the bloody thing from Tesco at £9-99!!!!

It could be that the file won't burn because it's copy protected. There may be ways round this, but unfortunately we can't discuss that here, due to copyright issues.

Are you selectiing recorder from toolbar, Delgado and clicking on burn image file?
If that doesn't work you could use isobuster to extract files from image file and save as avi, then burn as a normal file.

Delgado...It will work trust me :o:

Managed to sort this by stripping out the film with Iso Buster and burning the Vob Files as a DVD rather than an image.
Thanks for all your advice.
