There's no easy way to say this - but the bottom line is that it won't work! I've replaced the cartridges, checked the cable, re-installed the software, kicked it, but it just sits there giving me the finger. Any ideas? :bawl:

Mine is still working! :tease: Are there any lights flashing? Also, a long shot, but have you checked to see that there's nothing blocking the paper feed, like a pen for example?
-
There are no flashing lights but all of the lights on panel on the left are lit up including the ink light. To be fair it's had a hard life because Mrs Clive went through a phase of printing out a hell of a lot of stuff.

Sounds like it's thrown a bit of a wobbler. Suggest you leave it powered off over night (and unplugged) to see if it might reset itself, otherwise, perhaps have a look at this (http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/117707), or this (http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/98623). :santa:

1) Work directly with CSIC in Epson Stylus printers cartridges.
2) Reset or rewrite any chip using special addon device.
3) Freeze internal ink counters.
4) Reset internal ink counters even with empty cartridges.
5) Separate cleaning of color and black heads for all Epson inkjet printers, powerful cleaning mode.
6) Hot swapping of cartridges supported.
7) Resetting of protection counter (even then it is already full).
8) More then 100 different Epson printers supported

There is no error message to suggest that time is up Terry. I've downloaded and run the software you suggested and it says the printer is not connected. However, the windows troubleshooter claims that the LTP1 port is not working and that I should uninstall it and restart windows after which it will magically reappear. Surprise surprise, it didn't reappear yet device manager claims the printer is working properly sans port. ??? This is now a job for tomorrow otherwise I will end up deleting goodness knows what from her machine and I could end up in deep poo. :nerves:

I've got the port back but the printer has more lights showing than our Christmas tree. I think it's doomed. Thanks for all your input and that very handy epson program which I'm sure to have reason to use on my C46. :D

I eventually resolved the problem by splashing out on a new HP PSC 1510 all-in-one printer/scanner/photocopier from Argos. £39. It was very easy to set up and seems to work without any problems. Next task is to find a source of affordable yet reliable cartridges for it!
