If rumours are to be believed, the £10 subscription to Sky+ is to be dropped next month.
The Sky+ service is Sky's personal video recorder which allows the user to record, pause and instantly rewind live TV.
Currently customers are required to subscribe to 2 or more premium channels otherwise there is a £10 subscription in addition to the monthly Sky subscription.
However if the rumours are to be believed, from 12th February, Sky+ features like pause and rewind live TV will be free.
This can only be good news for consumers as other PVR providers such as Virgin Media may also follow suit to attract more customers.
There is no official word from Sky as yet on this rumour.

My new Sky Box is exactly one month old today. Had I known they were going to scrap the £10 subscription I would have gone for the Sky+ myself. ::)
-
it only makes me think of the sky advert where the woman goes "Sky" and some text comes underneath about their service.. I really think it should say "Sky: how we can f*** you over again and again"

I don't pay the £10 subscription, Clive. If you have sky full package it's free.

Yes, but I didn't buy a sky+ box Lona. :bawl: Silly me!

They are good prices Lona. I didn't pay much less that for a standard Pace box.

Not all things change do they ...........

If the Sky+ fee is to be scrapped, what happens to the customers that don't currently pay it (as they pay for one of the top packages), will they get a £10 discount off their subscription :-\
