Socket error 0 means something went wrong while opening the connection to the server (there is no "socket" yet). What router are you using? Does it have default settings, or can you revert to the settings that last worked? Perhaps you've closed the ports for your email servers? I think the incoming port is usually 110, and the outgoing (SMTP) port is 25 by default. If you have a secure mail server, such as Gmail, the incoming port is 995 by default. You may just need to reopen those ports, so that your email client can access the servers.
Come back to us if that's no help. :)

When you say you changed the settings, do you mean you just enabled some ports for the xbox? If that's the case, I'm guessing, as I don't have the same router myself, it would be a similar method for opening the email ports, but I can't understand how they would have been closed in the first place.
This guide might help:-

If it's OK with you, I'm going to change the title of this thread, and move it to the Hardware section, as I think we have some BT Voyager users on here, who may be able to help more, if they notice the thread.
