Title: ISO Files?
Post by: mistybear on May 05, 2007, 11:00
Does anyone know how to use Isobusters software or for that matter, does anyone know how Iso files work, eg. how to extract them (open) or what ever it is you do with these files.
I have an ISO file on my computer and I have an ISO file burned on CD and I have Isobusters and that's about as far as I've gotten?  :embarassed:  ???

If you have the ISO already burned to a CD, what happens when you run the CD?  If the file is OK, it should launch the installation of the program, or perhaps you need to find the Setup.exe on the CD to launch manually.

There are various pieces of software on the CD and an ISO file, when I click on it, it automatically opens Isobuster with the Iso file in it.

Right, so it sounds like you need to burn that ISO file to a separate CD.  Go along the top menus of Isobuster, and see if there's a Burn Image somewhere.  When you've burned the CD, hoppefully it should autorun when you insert it, otherwise, as I said, open it manually and find the Setup.exe.

If you have burned the ISO to a cd as a data file then it will still be an ISO image.

Isobuster and Winiso and other programs like those allow you to extract the content from the image file to your hard drive, similar to using winrar for a rar or zip file, without having to burn it to a cd.

If you want the content of the ISO on a cd then you can do as Simon says and use Isobuster to burn it or you can use Nero.
Look for the option that says burn a saved or image file in Nero.

The cue file contains the instructions that tell Nero its burning an ISO image file and as long as both files are in the same folder it wil burn it.

Yes, I used Nero as I couldn't find a burn feature on IsoBuster. And it was successful. I have installed one of the programs but I'm having trouble with another, something about another "setup exe" being open or something?

I now understand where I went wrong with the one I had already burned on CD, I burned it along with other software that wasn't in that format and I burned it as normal Data, so it didn't work.

Usually that message appears if the setup is still installing or maybe you clicked it again after setup initialised as some take a while to start and you may think that you hadnt clicked on it properly.
