Hi all,
Just got myself a new laptop (cheapo for surfing on the sofa!). Tried to install my copy of McAfee on it only to find out it's not compatible with Vista.
Does anyone know of a free anti virus program that will work with Vista while I wait till I can pick a copy up from somewhere?
Cheers
Phil

It's ok....just realised AVG works with Vista.........download underway right now.

AVG definately works as I am using that with Vista at the moment :)

McAfee???? Yuck. It would be a cold day in hell when i install an antivirus app that requires its own uninstall tool for removal.
FYI Avast has a free vista version too, although i've never actually used it.
Download.com's list of freeware vista antivirus apps.

I havent had one and I have been running Vista since december last year.
I havent noticed Vistas own inbuilt stuff pick anything up yet but AVG has stopped a couple of things so maybe thats the first line of defence and if I wasnt running it then Vista may have detected the same things and stopped them with bit defender or similar.
