looks interesting.. will have to have a proper look in the morning

That's terrific, but I doubt I'd have the time.
Where's that other site you posted about all the conspiracy theories.... I only managed to see the first one, which was great.
But I can't find it now. :dunno:
-
Could it be in THIS (http://www.pc-pals.com/smf/index.php?topic=21445.0) thread MB?
-
Thanks Clive, but no that isn't the one.
I'm sure you posted it in the last few months. It was a site that had a long list of links to various documentaries on 911, Waco and so on.
I'll have a proper search when I get the time.
I'm going to the tribunal on thursday, I'm fighting an eviction order and it has been very time consuming, not to mention stressful. So once it's sorted, I'll be able to spend more time here, and doing other normal things.
-
Yes, I thought I had posted something too but now can't find it! It's a conspiracy! Oh I do hope the tribunal goes OK for you MB. You must be having a tough time at the moment.
-
Yes, good luck MB, hope everything goes well.

I just thought that as the rules in Australia are different to ours for evictions MB, I would explain a little for non Aussies on here as I dont want people to think youve been a naughty girl, (well not in that way ;) ).
Most people can only be evicted in the UK for a gross breach of the terms of their lease agreement, non payment of rent or occassionally for being anti social or an otherwise usuitable tenant.
It appears that under Australian law a landlord can evict you without having to give a valid reason, he/she can just give you a date to leave the premises.
This is what MBs landlord has done, after she asked for some repairs to be done to her leaking roof :o
Good luck MB, I am sure we are all backing you to win your case :)
-
What a rotten situation to find yourself in, MB. I hope you have a successful outcome on Thursday.

Thankyou everyone, it's wonderful to have support when you feel the world's out to get you.
There is a clause in our residential tenancy agreements that gives the landlord power to evict you for "no reason".
It does appear we "aussies" are unique, I was talking to someone from Canada the other day, and he was also shocked that we have such a clause.
CONTINUING AGREEMENT: ?NO GROUNDS?
TERMINATION
If you are on a continuing agreement, the landlord can end the
agreement by giving a 60-day written termination notice
without a reason. However, you can argue in the Tribunal
that you should be allowed to stay because of your special
circumstances e.g. ill health, but this can be difficult to argue.
It is a very long story and goes back a few years and there are other issues and special circumstances due to the historical background of the house. If they persist with the termination notice it could be before the tribunal for some time, but at the moment we are just going for a decision on repairs.
-
Oh, what a black cloud to be hanging over you, MB. I do hope things work out in your favour.
-
Amen to that!
-
indeed! good luck!
-
Sorry to hear of your predicament, Misty, hope all goes well for you.
Sock it to them. Pity I can't be there to shout in your corner. :)

I can't remember where I heard this from now, but I was told that this was going to be a bad year. And let me say, so far, it has out done any expectations I might of had.
Lesson one, Do not p**s off your landlord, by questioning their questionable activities, and don't ask for repairs.

Thanks Lona, you'd put them straight for me.
When my brother phoned me, he said the only way he knew of how to help me was.."where do they live". Aren't men so gentle and caring.
Mind you if things don't go so well, there is always Michael and all of his mates.
-
Well, things didn't go so well.
And the previous post was only a joke, I wouldn't run the risk of Michael getting hurt.
But one consolation, first thing this morning the builder phoned, not the landlord or the real estate agent(cowards), and repairs have been happening and will continue on monday.
So back to the tribunal next month for the main event.
-
I hope you have taken photos before the work begins MB. Otherwise the landlord may try and say there was nothing wrong in the first place.
-
go kick ass in the court room, much better than having to use violence... but I have to say your bro's plan does sound like it has no holes.... :o:
-
I had lots of photos Clive that's why the work is being done, I think they were quite surprised as to how well prepared I was. I was also represented, but not by a lawyer as that isn't allowed, except in exceptional circumstances.
I agree Sam, but from the time my landlord opened her mouth until the time she closed it, nothing but lies came out. How do you combat that?
Michael was upset with me, when we were before the tribunal, the landlord accused "the tenants" of being abusive, he asked me why I didn't I didn't say anything. There wasn't much point as the matter wasn't being heard, she was just having a shot, the main fight will be over the termination notice. The member who was hearing the matters, understood exactly what was going on. Apply to the tribunal for repairs, termination notice, it's pretty clear.
Immediately the real estate agent said that it wasn't retaliatory, member looks to my representative, contesting it on "retaliation".
Shame my brother lives in America though.
-
We can only wish you the best, MB. Keep us posted. :thumb:

My neighbour is now concerned, as they have contacted her, wanting an inspection. She wasn't willing to help before as she was afraid the same would happen to her, well I think, as the say, the writing is on the wall.

yep, you just cant :-( - I think not getting visibly angry at the court is probably the best thing you can do...
