While Microsoft is still pushing Vista hard, the company is quietly allowing PC makers to offer a "downgrade" option to buyers who get machines with the new operating system but want to switch to Windows XP.

As a new Vista user, on my laptop, I don't find it too bad.  It's a bit like when XP first came along.  Everything is there from the old version - you just have to look harder for it.  I don't think I've explored it properly yet, as I have spent most of the time trying to make it behave like XP!  ;D
