Hi guys,
Am struggling with Vista and all the flaming permission boxes that keep coming up!!! :ack:
Is their anyway of turning these off? Also when I try to delete big files (video) that I have transferred to my drives it firstly ask for permission then basically tells me I do not have the permission....any one know the problem?

Assuming you are the Administrator, if you go to Control Panel > User Accounts, you should see a link to Turn User Account Control on or off.
You should bear in mind though, that UAC is a security measure, and not only alerts you to what you might be doing to the system at administrator level, but also what outside forces, such as a malicious program, might be attempting to do, so disabling UAC may compromise your computer's security, and you do so at your own risk! :)

Ok, I will have a think about whether I will or not. But what do you think about it not letting me delete video files?

Si.. a Picture (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k78y9Xqk5EQ) tells a thousand words, plus loads more ;)

haha thats brilliant cheers
Do you know why it wouldn't let me delete?

The delete problem could be that the file is still in use somehow - have you tried it after a reboot? Failing that, it could be a permissions setting, in which case, right click the file you want to delete, select Properties then the Security tab, and you should be able to edit the file's permissions in there. Basically, you want it to be Full Control.
I expect Terry will be along soon with a video! ;D
