Hi,
I have recently flattened my PC as it was full of malware. It is running exceptionally well now for general use, however I am no longer able to play games.
I have definately updated my graphics card drivers from the ATI website,that was the first thing i tried. Also I have checked hardware conflicts and there arent any and i have checked the event viewer which doesnt mention anything about the error.
Sim City 4 loads up for about 3 seconds and then closes without any explantion, while Americas Army returns the following error after a few secs:
No Label
OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD PentiumPro-class processor @ 2174 MHz with 1023MB RAM
Video: RADEON 9800 PRO (6755)
Error setting display mode: CreateDevice failed (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL). Please delete your armyops.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game.
History: UD3DRenderDevice::UnSetRes <- CreateDevice <- UD3DRenderDevice::SetRes <- UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice <- UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine
ANy help with this would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jaminxz
P.S I am running ATI Radeon 9800 pro, windows XP
