I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows XP (Media Edition) and for the last week my curser has periodically jumped somewhere else on the window. I have a Logitech optical mouse and tried a new driver from the Logitech website but it still moves around sometimes. I'd appreciate any help if somone would know what this problem might be. Thanks!

Could it be your mousepad playing up? Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for that? Have you scanned for viruses / spyware, etc?

Thanks Simon,....I'm not sure about installing. I downloaded a recommended driver and the Logitech website said that it would install the new driver after downloading it and clicking on it...............I have a cd that came with the mouse but never used it because the mouse worked good ever since I first plugged in the mouse a year ago.

Well, it's possible that the mouse itself is on the way out. Do you have another one, or could you borrow one you could try?

I had a similar problem with a logitech mouse.
I uninstalled the driver and also scanned pc and deleted anything to do with logitech.
I then installed from the disc that came with the mouse and all worked fine.
Sometimes these drivers you download from logitech screw things up. Better to stick to the software that came with the mouse.

Thanks Simon, I have another mouse that I just thought about trying.....but first..... Lona, I'm going to try what you said. Please reply back and tell me how to uninstall my logitech driver. Thank you.

Go into Control Panel, then Add and remove programs to see if you can locate the Logitech software there. But I have always found that installing a new driver over the old one usually does the trick anyway.

Thanks Lona, I guess I'm ready to try fixing it........I'll post results
