The "Get unhooked" advert aimed at getting people to quit smoking was the most complained about advert last year. The Department of Health advert prompted 774 complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). The number of adverts complained about in 2007 was the highest ever at 14,080 and key grievances were violence and misleading claims about being green. But 2,458 adverts were changed or withdrawn following action by the ASA, it said in its annual report. So here are the top 10 adverts of 2007, measured by volume of complaints:

Interestingly, I only saw one of those ten adverts! That was the MFI showing couples having arguments. Not sure why I didn't see any of the others!
-
I hardly even see ads, as I record everything, so I skip through them. :)
-
I'm not sure why people moaned about a bunch of these... or why only a couple of hundred people moaning causes such problems!!! If only the government followed that policy and when a million march against war actually listen to them.
Some of the complaints are funny. I particularly liked the quorn add

I don't watch tv that often so no ads for me either.
-
some people will complain about anything. Well it seems like anything to me, every one is different I suppose.
I find some ads funnier than the programmes, dont think I would ever complain as I find them more annoying than offensive.
Halifax singing guys :ack: :ack:
The sheilas wheels ad is quite annoying too mainly because the part which it says that ....'women make the safest drivers'............now if a man had said that about men been the best, there would have been a right fuss about it.
-
I rarely see adverts because most of the stuff I watch is on BBC. On the rare occasions I watch commercial television, I mute the sound when the adverts come on. Then I stick my MP3 player in my lugholes and catch up on podcasts until the main programme resumes.

'women make the safest drivers'
It must be true as I was stopped this evening for doing 90mph on the M6 and the nice policeman just told me to be more careful and to slow down in future.
If I had been driving dangerously and speeding, like a man would have been doing, then hed no doubt have booked me for it ;D

I'm not going to suggest anything about using your female form....

.......and whats the punch line Sandra?
I was expecting one for some reason. All I can say is you must have caught him in a good mood, but it should make no difference really should it?
Well done Sandra :)
