We've all seen phishing emails - but similar scams that use the mobile phone network are much less common.
But security firm F-Secure is warning of a text message scam that informs the recipient that he or she has won money in a lottery.
The message tells you that you have won a sum of €170,000 (about £135,000) and asks you to send an email to the address gsmn92@yahoo.com.
If you do so, you receive an email that tells you that a cheque for that sum will be dispatched if you agree to pay the deliver fee.
Of course, the scammers ask for a significant sum, though it seems a mere trifle to someone who believes they have just won €170,000.
"Obviously you can't win a lottery if you haven't bought a ticket in the first place," said Mikko Hypponen of F-Secure.
"These guys just want you to pay for the 'courier delivery' of you 'cheque prize'. There is no parcel. Don't fall for this scam," he continued.

Or, more bluntly, their greed.

Although my dad might, being a bit old and confused now days, thats if he could remember his password! I guess they pray on ppl like that.

In some ways, if people fall for it through greed, they deserve to be scammed.
