The World Heritage Tour.

Brief description.

Source : Tito Dupret / WHTour.org

WHTour.org is a non-profit organization documenting the UNESCO World Heritage List in panographies - 360-degree imaging. This project has been slowly growing since July, 3rd 2001 and will take several years to complete.

This is for those who are unable to travel for whatever reason, and also a legacy to future generations : soon documentation and reproduction will be the only ways to see, enjoy and share many past glories that are slowly disappearing because of :

climate change and natural disasters + [ii] illegal trade (logging, looting, poaching) + [iii] mass tourism and travel industrialization + [iv] mismanagement (incompetence, wrong policies, lack of funds) + [v] modernity (fast development, leaving or growing populations) + [vi] political instability, conflict and war + [vii] pollution.

That website must be in its infancy because I've visited a lot of UNESCO World Heritage sites that do not appear on it.  I note that their passports do not allow them to travel farther south than the equator!   ;D
