I remember them well, MB. Most have been a complete waste of our money. :(
-
Simple is always best.
-
One of my favourites was the coloured letters emerging from white for BBC2. That had class.
-
wonder how much money it took for them to decide that simple works...
-
Millions, Sam, as always. :(
-
I remember them all since 1967! :bawl:

Nostalgia at its best!

And please dont forget to turn your TV off.......................or something like that who remebers that :)x

They always used to play the National Anthem at closedown, followed by the 'Don't forget to turn off your television set' thing, then that tone that was supposed to wake you up if you'd fallen asleep watching the TV. Who remembers the white dot when you turned your TV off? ;D

I remember that Simon.we used to stare at it....waiting for what,I dont know...
But you ,prompted my memory with that sort of buzzing tone.....and I can recall people actually standing for the national anthem,OK it was not that common,(was in the cinema) but I have known the odd one or two stand in front of the TV............

When the presenter said "Goodnight" at the end of the day's transmission (10 pm) my great grandfather used to say "goodnight" back to him. Now TV is still being transmitted at 11 pm. (apparantly). ::)
-
  Shame there is not a lot on any more ;D
-
I remember the 1KHz tone, the dot, the announced, the day the BBC stopped all transmissions when the King died... I feel old. :)

Prepare yourself Clive. Michael tells me that it's now transmitted right through the night. Can you imagine, television on all day and all night. :o

I hate tone. Before we recorded anything, we had to lay down a minute of bars and tone, drove me nuts. :bawl:
