The Reverend Professor Michael Reiss, a biologist and Anglican priest, is the education director for the Royal Society, the venerable British science institution. He recently called for creationism to be discussed in science classes, not just in religion or philosophy classes. Science journals reacted with a world of 'WTF' and the Royal Society backpedaled furiously. Now Nobel laureates are gathering to get him fired: 'The thing the Royal Society does not appreciate is the true nature of the forces arrayed against it and the Enlightenment for which the Royal Society should be the last champion.' The blogs, of course, are loving it.

They should teach creationism to all youngsters; in the same RE lessons (not science lessons) where all faiths are discussed to emphasise the difference between religious faith and rigorous science. Perhaps they could even get a scientist to teach it, one who hasn't been bitten by the god-bug.

They shouldnt have RE lessons in schools, that sort of stuff should be kept away from schools altogether. There are plenty of churches, mosques, synagogue and such like, where people can get their kids indoctrinated if they really think it is necessary. Schools should concentrate on subjects that educate and unite children, not those that brainwash and segregate them >:(

I'd prefer to have RE taught objectively by teachers rather than by priests and mullahs. In an ideal world, there wouldn't be a need for these classes at all, but we don't live in an ideal world.
