Wi-Fi networks in the home are letting us take care of business in more ways than one when we visit the lavatory, according to ISP Plusnet.
According to a survey carried out by the company, some 10 per cent of respondents had logged on to the internet during a toilet break.
However, the living room was still our favourite place to get online using Wi-Fi and 35 per cent of respondents admitted to taking their laptop to bed.
Neil Armstrong, Plusnet's product director, said: "With the growing popularity of wireless technology, people can access their computers from almost anywhere in their homes at any time.
"Some people are now such fans of emailing and the internet they want to stay in touch with the worldwide web whenever and wherever they are. The explosion of Wi-Fi broadband allows them to do that – although we wouldn't recommend people taking their laptops into the bath or shower!" Armstrong continued.
