Super Mini Laptop (http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/12/umids-super-mini-laptop-is-small-shiny-super/)

Been there, done it, mate! Bought an Acer Eee PC in the summer, and found it crap. Small keyboard is too fiddly, and it's under powered for browsing anything but the most basic websites. Even Pals gives it trouble, with the flash sigs. Don't think I'd touch another one. ;)

I knew you had one of those, but the one I linked too is not even out yet. And come on you are the definitive "Mr Gadget" of PC Pals :)x
OK, how about a Acer Aspire One (http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/laptops/0,39030094,49297519-1,00.htm?autoplay=yes)? 95% size of a normal laptop keyboard, but a short life battery. There is always a trade off one way or another.
To be honest, I'm a horses for courses kind a guy. If you need a PC you get a PC, if you need your own personal PC on the move, you need a proper laptop.
-
To be fair, I can't actually see it on my phone, so will have a look later. I know I'm a sucker for a gadget! ;D
-
You need that Archos then.
-
Let me know what yours is like first. ;)
-
I've nearly talked Sue into a set of Bose speakers for the computer, the Archos might have to wait. :)
-
Ah, now that's one thing I don't get. What's the need for expensive PC speakers, when you have a Meridien hi-fi?
-
Computers are upstairs, Meridian is downstairs. :)
-
Ah yes, I forget some people have an upstairs! ;D
-
I suspect that this may be the last house we own for which that will be true. :)

Mine seems to work fine ??? I did up the RAM to 2GB mind ::)
The best one at the moment is the Samsung NC10 (http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2008/11/17/Samsung-NC10---10-2in-Netbook/p1) but you can judge the whole market to date here. (http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2008/11/20/The-Ultimate-Netbook-Buyer-s-Guide/p1)

That's like saying, "My Morris Minor does 180mph, but I did put a Ferrari engine in it!" ::)
-
;D well it was only £20 :dunno:
I like this new breed (Netbooks) and to think it is just over a year i've had mine and how much they have advanced :o
If i was looking now i'd probably go for the Samsung but what i have does it's job ok.
