We have tried installing the new 9800GX2. First we forgot to download the new drivers for the new card and uninstall the old drivers for the 7950. After doing this, swapping cards back and forth, we still have no sign of life on the monitor...... :bawl:
There must be something blatantly obvious that we haven't done.......
Any suggestions would be most appreciated. :brickwall: :help1:

1. Is the graphics card compatible with the motherboard?
2. Is it seated fully and securely in the slot?
3. Does it have a separate power connector, and if so, have you connected it?
4. Is the fan running on the graphics card, showing it's receiving power?

Neither am I really, just thought I'd ask. I'm sure someone will know. :)

I've now posted it on three forums, so maybe I'll get an answer. I also spoke via messenger, yesterday, to the guy I bought it from, who suggested the driver issue. But he hasn't been online since.
I have the awful feeling that it's a dead card...... :( but on the bright side with it's lifetime warranty, we should get a new one. :) (Hopefully, fingers crossed)

Does it go into safe mode or even bios and show anything on the monitor ?
It should do that with generic drivers as the proper ones arent needed or installed at that point.
If its not showing anything on the screen at that point either the monitors dead or the card is.

Even after Michael had uninstalled the drivers for the 7950, it still worked fine. With the 9800, there isn't any signal.
So yes, it does appear that the card is dead.....
Now I have to ask the previous owner to transfer the registration of the card to us and contact XFX. :merry:
