Has anyone got in depth knowledge of nas drives working with windows xp?
I have a problem assigning a drive letter to my qnap nas ts109 turbo. I can access thru the software supplied ie qnap finder and via ftp but I cant get windows to behave and mount the drive so I can see it via explorer and in my computer. I would need a walk thru on this one if anyone can take the time for a newbie to nas drives and their peculiarities. Thanks

Hi Phil,
This is out of my league, but hopefully someone will be able to help later. :)

Failing which, we know a place which has several NAS users...
-
hmm, this would be simple to do with linux but I'm unsure how todo this with windows.
Just a thought, not sure if they are of help...

If Sam's links don't help, Phil, you might want to try posting on http://www.idnetters.co.uk, who are our stable mates, and I think there may be some NAS users on there.

Thanks to all for the replies. Ive read those articles on the two links you gave me Sam but I had already tried all the ones on the microsoft route. I think I will have to bone the tech support at QNAP for a reply.
I downloaded winscp which accesses the nas via ftp and comes up with either a windows explorer or a norton commander type pane with all my files on the nas and anyone I specify on my pc, works a treat. Thanks for your time I might be back
