Title: Updating nvidia graphics drivers
Post by: daveeb on February 04, 2009, 08:01
Howdy guys, due to some blue screen issues during a rare excursion into gaming (Bioshock - very good actually  ;)) i intend to update my nvidia 9600gt graphics drivers as the blue screen message seems to be pointing the finger at nv_4_displ.dll. The recommendation seems to be to uninstall the current drivers first. Once I do this will it cause a problem with the display before i get chance to install the new drivers, and does uninstalling the old drivers prevent me from "rolling back" the drivers if things go t1ts up.  :dunno:

The only problem I have had with uninstalling GFX card drivers is that sometimes you cant see the bits to click at the bottom of the box as the display will reset itself to a very low resolution so that eveything is too big for the screen.

Not sure about the rolling back thing but windows should be able to install a driver thats ok enough for you to get online and find another driver.
