Title: can not open attachments

 ???Toshiba Laptop Sat Pro running XP having trouble opening email word attachmens - can open but cannot read - all in gobbledegook. Tried various patches- to no avail. This has happened before but running the office installation disk seemed to sort it out, but now it keeps querying patch packet???? Any help......... it's driving me mad

Hi Paul,

If you using Office 2003, and the files are from Office 2007, you may need this converter (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en) from Microsoft.
