Title: Drive "full" problem
Post by: Simon on July 14, 2009, 23:45
I've been asked to look at a computer which keeps telling it's owmer that the C drive is full, when it isn't.  This is a two year old Dell desktop, running XP.  Any ideas?

Just a guess, Simon, but it isn't the Page File or System Restore that is taking up loads of room on the drive is it?  I halved my System Restore "Disk Space to Use" recently as it was set (by default on a 160GB Hard Drive) at nearly 20GB.

Possibly the temp file folder Simon.

Went to look at the PC today, and it turns out they have never emptied their recycle bin, which had nearly 9Gb of files in it!   :o  Ran CCleaner, and all OK now.  :)
