Title: New planet displays exotic orbit
Post by: Simon on August 13, 2009, 11:31
Astronomers have discovered the first planet that orbits in the opposite direction to the spin of its star.

Planets form out of the same swirling gas cloud that creates a star, so they are expected to orbit in the same direction that the star rotates.

I was at barbecues Saturday and Sunday, and although there were wasps around, but not in huge numbers.  With a bit of luck, they're heading for extinction.  I did see a hornet, though, and you don't mess with them. :horror:

Those wasps I have seen this year have been quite small too.

my parents have... well we didn't really notice a massive increase in wasps in the house and I must have walked past the nest for a few weeks when I was moving stuff home... but on their front porch some wasps made their nest. The wasp-man came out and fixed it the other day though.

My new dog loves chasing wasps.  Thank goodness he has yet to catch one.

I suspect, if he does, he won't make the same mistake again!
