AbiWord looks interesting, if you just want a word processor without the bulk of Open Office or Microsoft.

hmmm, I've not tried abiword in a long time - I'm an open office person if I need to be... most of my document producing however is done with Latex.

I thought latex was gloves, thermal knickers, etc!  ;D
