 I'm looking for a new phone. ;D
-
Get the E71 Simon...its great, the best phone I have ever had,the mp3 is very good quality too ;D ;D  :santa:
-
Never one to do things by halves I'm currently looking at the HTC HD2 (http://www.htc.com/europe/product/hd2/overview.html), which, although it's Windows Mobile :ack: it is the latest version, and it's BIG!! ;D I also like the look of the Nokia N900 (http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/). :)
-
it is the latest version, and it's BIG!! ;D
Ha! I knew my phone would come back into fashion! ;D
-
It's not THAT big! ;D
-
surely just the new type of blackberry will do you?
-
I'm looking at the BlackBerry Bold 9700, as it's the touch screen keyboard I'm not getting on with, but I think the keys will be too small on the Bold.
-
Get a netbook and a dongle, Simon. Simples. ;D
-
Yeah, but no wifi when I'm at work.
-
Hence the dongle...
-
yeah.. a giant dongle.
-
Better than a giant dingaling... :)
-
:sigh: ;D
-
It's an age thing...
-
There should be new things out in the new year Si but then there is always the next new better thing around the corner.
I think for a while it will be more about better hardware development as the software is pretty up to date for all the types of fones at the moment.
-
That's probably true, Cam. What's the Android apps library like at the moment? On par with Apple or BlackBerry?
-
It seems to have all the bases covered.
The way it appears is that say the Iphone has 100 screen capture apps where most will just choose between the best 2 or 3, Android will just have 2 but probably 2 pretty good ones.
As i said a lot of the hard work done over the last few years on iphone apps is the starting point for Android.
I read there was 10,000 apps by September which is surprising but it's quality not quantity that counts.

This is worth a read on the phone your looking at and if you want the big screen may be the best option at this time > HTC-HD2 (http://www.trustedreviews.com/mobile-phones/review/2009/11/07/HTC-HD2-Windows-Phone-Smartphone/p1)
You should get good info from the verdict at the end of the review and also the comments on the last page.

Ohhh YESSS!!! :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot:
HTC has also gone to town with its implementation of the Sense UI, revamping all its icons and menus to make them even bigger, shinier, and fancier to suit the enormous screen. Possibly the best demonstration of this - and it's unfortunately rather difficult to capture in still photos - is the weather animation that is activated when you turn on the phone. When raining (as it was at the time), you get animated clouds and rainfall in the background while rain drops will cover the inside of your screen until a windscreen wiper appears and wipes it all away. Of course it's a total gimmick but it is rather impressive and does mean you get a full and accurate description of the weather without needing to read anything.
Gotta have it!

watch out phone shops the gadget man is out tomorrow.
-
:woo: :arf: :xmas:
-
I wonder if it will just try and blind you on a sunny day? :)
-
It has sunglasses for sunny days. 8-)
-
;D
The Garlic Farm would like you to ring them. They close for Xmas this evening...
-
I have. They are chasing FedEx, but have assured me that the products should be OK.
-
Same here. Unless they stuff is allowed to freeze, it should be fine, it's just the frustration of chasing carriers, isn't it? So far this week I've had Parcelforce try to deliver a parcel that I posted to me, I've had Royal Mail lose one Amazon delivery and make the other 'guaranteed Saturday' delivery on Monday afternoon, and the replacement order from Amazon has now been lost by Citylink, who scanned it into their system on collection, and it's not been seen since. :sigh:
-
On top of all that, they expect you to wait in all day for them, as if you haven't anything else to do. >:(
-
Indeed. Why can't we have a civilised system with time slots?
-
Yes, they must, after all, have some sort of a planned schedule.
-
You're more optimistic than me, Simon. I think they just chuck it in the back and work from point to point...
-
Wonder is Simon's playing with it or maybe the phone has arrived :)x
Seen a positive comment from someone who went to the HTC HD2 from the Iphone and loves it
The only thing that put me off was the size of the screen makes it only suitable for people with manbags :hee-hee:
No, it looks like a good bit of kit :thumb:
-
Wonder is Simon's playing with it or maybe the phone has arrived :)x
Do you want to re-phrase that slightly, Cammy?
-
Phone not arrived yet - but was supposedly sent by RM Special Delivery yesterday, so... :x: I keep looking out the window each time I hear a vehicle go by! :bawl:
-
I hear RM have asked Fedex to deliver it.
-
You better hope City Link don't get their hands on it :horror: ;D
-
FedEx are now here. ::)
-
At last!!!!! ;D
-
But the post has been, and he didn't have the phone. :bawl:
-
SD's are often put out on a van separately.
-
IT'S HERE!!! :danceban: :rockban: :evilban:  :yeaah: :yeaah: :yeaah: :yeaah: :yeaah: :smirks:
-
See, I told you. :)
So we'll see you tomorrow then?
-
No Sam or Simon for the rest of this year! We should consider staging a coup. ;D
-
Tea or coffee, Clive? ;D
-
Shouldn't frazzle Simon's brain that much as his last fone was up to date.
Just learned how to do a screen shot with my erm not so new toy.
