"Paypal has as of 23rd of January 2010 frozen WikiLeaks assets. This is the second time that this happens. The last time we struggled for more than half a year to resolve this issue. By working with the respected and recognized German foundation Wau Holland Stiftung we tried to avoid this from happening again — apparently without avail."

Yet another reason to distrust PayPal.

I've heard that said a lot, but I've never had a problem with PayPal, and when I did have an issue with an eBay seller, they supported me in getting a refund from him.

nor have I and I just created a Canadian paypal account - looks like £1 to send money to the UK (via another paypal account) - can't moan!

could you not have used your UK papal account? Or am I being thick?

Well yes and no. I needed to add my Canadian back account - so I needed a paypal Canada one too. Then I send the cash to my UK one and job done. Much better than having to use Western Union and hassle someone to collect it from a dodgy shop (they all seem to be in very unsound places in Brum)

Indeed, same round here. WU just has that feeling of being a bit iffy, because of the outlets it's located in.
