Title: Applying Security Tab to XP Home Edition

Unlike Microsoft Windows XP Professional where the security tabs for the folders and drives have been hidden and can be enabled with certain tricks, Windows XP Home edition by default doesn’t have the security tabs that allows users to configure and change the permissions and rights for Windows folders and drives.
Does anybody know how to  view and display the Security Tab in Windows XP Home edition operating system without starting from safe mode.
I have looked at  Security Configuration Manager Tool which is a tool set to configure security for a Windows NT-based or Windows 2000-based computer but this does not seem to apply XP Home.
I downloaded a executable file called SCESP41.EXE, opened it and although the files appeared the Setup.inf file was missing.
The problem I am having is with Sage Line 50 Accounts, which having worked for a long time has suddenly decided not to allow me access.

Try this way.

Right Click the folder or file/Properties/Security/Advanced/Owner Tab. Select or change the owner to yourself or other administrator account.

If the Security Tab isnt displayed then go to : Control Panel/Appearance & Themes/Folder Options. View/Advanced and clear Use Simple File Sharing.

Hi Guys.
Thank you for your replies.
Having spent far too much time on this problem, I have now found two bits of software that do the trick.

You have to double click the SecurityTab file, then click Yes to merge into the registry
You can then see the Security tab.
When done, double click the SecurityTabUndo.reg file to undo the change.

Apparently, it's not recommended to leave the setting in the registry. It basically fools Windows into thinking it's in Safe Mode and programs or services that check that value to see if Windows is running in Safe Mode may get confused.

I've tried to attach the files to the post but failed miserably.
They are the wrong kind of snow, sorry file.
