Car designers in1958 thought we'd drive two-wheeled cars that were guided by radar and balanced by gyroscopes in the year 2000. Instead, we're driving Toyotas with no brakes.

Strange you should mention Toyotas, Clive. My local dealer phoned me tonight, asking if I'd received my invitation to their sale weekend. "Yes", I said. "Will you be coming, can we entice you into buying a new car", was the reply. "Well, no, actually - I wouldn't buy a Toyota right now or for the foreseeable future", said I. "What would change your mind", quoth the dealer. "Time", I said, "Perhaps."
End of conversation. ;D
