Ever wondered what it would be like on the planet Mars? You can see the next best thing right here on Earth in Australia's vast and ancient desert regions, according to a new scientific study.
-
We should organise a visit Sam. 8-)
-
I'm sure Kate would be delighted to see you.
-
She'd be hiding in Tasmania. ;D
-
You're welcome anytime Clive.
And I'd be careful about making comments about Tasmania though.... ':|
Remember Mac/Ian? He was very informed about Australia's connection to Mars.
And before you say it Simon, maybe he was from Mars. ;)
-
:o: ;D
-
Thank you Kate! Mac/Ian is best forgotten about - he was a nightmare! ::)
-
I'm hoping to head over to Oz at some point to work on SKA prep.
-
I didn't know you were into music, Sam. ;D :scoot:
-
argh

Where about's in Australia is that Sam?
-
well Sydney is a big player in the prep but it'll be primarily in Western Australia if it gets the go-ahead (but there will be telescopes all over the continent) http://www.skatelescope.org/pages/page_genpub.htm / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_Kilometre_Array
-
Yes, I see from the map that there will quite a few and most of them in WA.

I didn't know we had • Australia is well provided with high bandwidth optic-fibre infrastructure.
I know the government wants to do this, and new housing projects are having it installed and the cost passed on to new home buyers.

Maybe so, but I did have a soft spot for him and really enjoyed chatting with him, as long as it wasn't religion. ::)
-
Did he ever chat about anything else? It was a shame, as he was an otherwise very intelligent and knowledgeable guy.
-
He didn't inflict any religious cr*p on me till the very end, which I didn't respond to. I use a similar tactic with my mother. ::)
-
What, inflicting religious crap? :o
-
;D No, ignoring her attempts at converting me to "believing".
One of her biggest disappointments is that I didn't become confirmed. ::)
-
So, you confirmed that? ;D
-
Yes, I confirmed that I didn't want to be confirmed, which confirmed her concern for my unconfirmed soul.
Amen!
-
Bless you! ;D
-
Thank you Simon, but I fear I'm doomed.
-
Best way to be, Kate. ;)
-
Yes, people always seem to see the light when they get old. Hallelujah praise the Lord.
:music: What a friend we have in Jesus :music:

Maybe they just mean out west?
