Cosmonaut Valeri Polyakov returns to Earth from the longest-ever stay in space by a human. He spent just over 437 days in the Mir space station.

I once had lunch with THIS GUY (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksandr_Volkov_(cosmonaut)) who had spent more hours in space (combined) than any other human. He was on a visit the the UK back in 1999 and I arranged for him and his comrade ALEXANDER MARTYNOV (http://www.spacedu.org/Lectures/Media/Bottom/partisip.htm#VOLKOV) (3rd one down) to visit the University of Glamorgan to talk to over a thousand school children. They were both very amusing and the kids were awed at being able to paw real astronauts and ask them quite searching questions about their toliet arrangerments! I also arranged visits to local astronomical societies but the schoolkids visit was the best. Volkov spent a great deal of time trying to hit on the young female teachers who accompanied them. ::)

Well, if you've spent that much time in space... ;D

In a spacesuit... ;D

You learn not to eat beans...

At least it would be contained. ;D

That only benefits others. ;D

cool! and do you blame him?

Not at all. These guys were obviously strapped for money which is why they were "touring" the UK. I was only responsible for them for the couple of days they were in Wales. Martynov was very well behaved but Volkov was a real character. He was sat opposite me at the lunch table and a very pretty teacher was sat next to him. He tried every trick in the book to get her back to his hotel but he failed miserably.
