Palm Inc. a pioneer in the smart phone business that couldn't quite make the comeback it needed, has agreed to be bought out by Hewlett-Packard Co. for about $1.4 billion in cash.

Sysops at Compuserve were issued with them. It's good PR, if we liked them, our members got told. That's why we got free AV software too.

Not enough PR to be had. CI$ was different because it was a very large community and world wide.
