I read an opinion yesterday that Android is a gimmick, and will be killed off by Apple and Windows Mobile 7 in the not too distant future.  Time will tell, but what I've seen of WM7 so far, looks horrible.

wow Android a gimmick? that's surprising given what the numbers say and well having tried out all the major phones (well I'll never buy a windows mobile) its well simply better. The iphone isn't far off though, but these handsets are cheaper.

I'm just quoting someone else's opinion.  From what I have seen of the latest Android versions, running the HTC Sense overlay, it seems perfectly workable to me.
