Not a bad list, but it's tilted towards modern books and there's a distinct absence of Dickensian characters. Surely Uriah Heap should feature alongside the two mentioned?
Nice to see Dolores Umbrage there. I've always wondered how JK Rowling got away with creating such an obvious child abuser - and the film was only rated 12A!

I'm ashamed to say, apart from the Harry Potter ones which I have read recently, I have either forgotten about, or not read, most of the others.

I guessed the list might be of interest to you Gill. I'm afraid I have read very little fiction this past 40 years! My head is always stuck in an astronomy book.

In my family, Dickens has been at the top of our list of disliked characters from the moment he took up with that Tiernan woman. >:(

That explains a lot. :o: ;D

It was the only time Mrs Clive ever managed to get superglue to work! ;D
-
Superglue is very expensive if you buy it from a DIY store. Far cheaper to buy it from a proper woodworkers shop, such as Axminster Power Tools.
-
I've never got it to work either!

I use it a lot when I make pens. Whenever I've bought CA glue from a DIY shed, it only works for one application, then the nozzle sets solid.
