Thanks for looking, Rik. I couldn't find a link either, which makes me wonder what the point of that article is.
If you're interested in downloading quality radio broadcasts, both ancient and modern, you can do a lot worse than monitor Radio Archive (http://radioarchive.cc/index.php). I've had some very good programmes from there.

Sorry. I searched for the archive on the BBC website which came up with THIS LINK (http://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/sound_archive.shtml) . I had hoped for something better but it was not to be.
