I can't say I'm surprised, Sam.

I haven't used AltaVista for years, but used to have an email address with them.

It would be fun to dig up some of those early email addresses, wouldn't it. I had one at bigfoot.com (how apt ;D), and another at scotlandmail.com.

My first dip into the Internet was with a Bush Internet set top box, so my first email was @bushinternet.com. I think that's dead, but I still get mail to my old Talk21 address.

I had one of those too, but my first was with BT's monthly subscription service, whose name escapes me right now. £15pm sub, long-distance phone call rates to access, and a data charge per kB. That was in 1984.

I'd forgotten all about AltaVista.   :D  My first e-mail address was @delphi.com, probably in 1990.

I've lost count how many I've had now.  In the glory days of dial up, I used to switch ISPs almost monthly!  ;D

Clive will remember, a few of us used to follow each other around.  A 'new' ISP would pop up, which would be really good for a while, then word would get round and they would over-subscribe, become sh*t, and we'd bugger off to the next one.  ;D

In the days of EZPC, didn't a few of us use Fast24?

We are certainly deep in memory lane now!  Yes, I think Fast 24 was very popular on EZPC.
