Any thoughts any one on film/negative scanners. I have a Canon 8800f flat bed scanner which is superb but am thinking about buying a dedicated film scanner. Prices seem to vary so much ranging from one in M&S reduced to £39.99 to a Plustek at about £240. Any one with any experience of these would be nice. :D

I would think Rik might be your man for this, Den. He's had guests this weekend, but may be in later, if not, tomorrow.

In the meantime, any of these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=film+and+negative+scanner&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=5968032369&ref=pd_sl_pwzfep8yn_e) any good, Den?

I have both a Veho stand-alone and a Canon 8800f. Save your money Den. We find the Canon meets all our needs and we no longer use the Veho.
-
how much did the Veho cost?
I had a Canon (can't remember what) back in the UK and always found it so slow, too slow for me really!
-
The Veho was 80 quid at the time Sam, but I think they are much less now.
-
interesting, was it faster than the canon?
-
The Canon is very fast Sam. And far more versatile. We wanted to print from very old negatives.
-
Also bear in mind that the Canon is a serious piece of kit whereas the Veho is, well, less so.

true, I do have a nice canon scanner that does film too, just wondering more than anything else.
