Thousands of Gmail accounts wiped last week have now been fully restored.

Didn't something similar happen to Hotmail last year? I don't understand why people leave all their emails on the servers, rather than downloading it to their own machines. I wouldn't trust a 'cloud' with all my personal data.

I only store backups of important mail on GMail. I have no wish to lose my sheep contacts. :blush:
