Try with hts-tvheadend (http://www.lonelycoder.com/hts/tvheadend_download.html).

Thanks, Dan.  I've downloaded it and I'm pretty sure I've installed it correctly but I can't find it!

Type    Tvheadend

in a terminal it should pop up
Or to reconfigure  sudo dpkg-reconfigure hts-tvheadend

Then right click choose properties and it should tell where its at

other than that right click  choose  edit menus

and search there

Well, I'm having more joy than I've ever had with MythTV, but that's not saying much  !  I can get it to detect a handful of channels, mostly porn, children's and ITV2+1, but they won't play.  It would be nice to access the likes of BBC 1, ITV et al.  Although I've looked at the forum, I can't see any solutions there - quite a few people have experienced similar problems to me but no answers have been forthcoming.

Any more ideas?

Sorry for the hold up - open your browser and go to http://127.0.0.1:9981

It's a web based interface - but works wonderfully and has an integrated vlc based player.

Edit: OK - a quick run through to get you going. First things first - click configuration and then "access control" and make sure that you enable a user with full access. - otherwise you are stuffed.(see image - no password should be needed)

Then click TV adapters and select yours from the drop down list. Add DVB by location and select your nearest transmitter. Wait until nothing is scanning (status panel top right) then Map services and leave it to it - this is the actual tuning. When it says "idle" in the bottom console it's finished. Then you can go back to Electronic Programme Guide tab and start watching. If channels are missing let me know, and I'll talk you through manual mapping.
