I've done a really bad thing... I've accidentally deleted a partition on a backup external hard drive. These are someone else's photos, music, etc. Is there any way I can recover these files?
-
It's OK, Acronis Disc Director came to the rescue. :solved:
-
Recuva (http://www.piriform.com/recuva) is very good for that kind of thing. Good luck, Simon! ;)
-
Ooops! Damn telephone...
-
Thanks Rod. It's extraordinary how involuntarily active the bowels become, when that sort of thing happens.

It would have been twitching like a rabbit's nose, I expect.

-

Might give it back to them with just Linux on it.

Poxy Dell!! I have a brand new Windows XP CD, with SP3 included, and it won't let me install it because the (original) product key won't work. I'm guessing it's a Dell coded key. :dunno:
-
Argh
-
 The key is for the Media Center edition, and I'm trying to install the bog standard Home edition. Need to find a Media Center CD. :o:
-
Well at least it was understandable sort of
-
I should never have started this! Even the PC shop refused to look at it! I wouldn't mind so much, but I have to keep disconnecting my own PC, to connect this thing up, and each time I think I'm on the way, another hurdle presents itself.
-
Time to say they need a new machine
-
It's getting to that point.
