Just click on the views button...Beside folders on mine....(Y)
-
On mine, when you open control panel "switch to classic view" is in the first column on the left hand side, just under "control panel"
-
This is what it looks like on mine: :(
-
On mine BB I just open the Control Panel and it has the option in the top section of the left hand side (Is your bit expanded or closed so you cant see it maybe? ).
This allows you to select either Classic or Custom View :-*
-
Well on mine it's here....
-
Im pretty sure it used to be there, but it isnt now ???
Dont know what ive done :(
Ive checked the view menu etc and i cant see anything that relates to it.

Click on the SEE ALSO part BB its closed up as I suggested in my prior post :-*
-
When i do that i get this: :-\
-
BB WATCH MY LIPS ;D
You have clicked on OTHER OPTIONS you need to click above that on the SEE ALSO the double arrow on the top right side of that box :-*
-
No, I don't think that's it Sandra. The See Also menu is the one that he's got. He's missing the Control Panel menu, which is above that one, as per screenshots. Mine is the same so I won't put mine up as well. ;D
Can't think of an answer to this one yet, BB. :(
-
??? ???
I have clicked on that, it just hides those 3 2 options as shown in this screen-shot
If im wrong again, dont shout at me ;D

@Big_Boss
This may help,
To change the display settings from the normal start menu to the classic (old style) menu right click on the task bar at the bottom of the screen, select Properties, Start menu, Classic start menu. To change back just click Start Menu

OK, I still don't know where your button has gone, BB, but if you click Tools > Folder Options, you can choose to Use Windows Classic Folders, and that will do it, but it might also do it for all folders, not just the Control Panel. Give it a try, you can always change it back. :)

Sorry for thinking youd misunderstood BB :-[
I see what you mean now thanks to Simon. The strange thing is I can get mine like yours but if I close the window and then reopen it,it goes back to how mine was.The other way I can revert back to the same as mine is if I change it to yours then just use the back button ???

It makes me glad I stayed with Millenium when I listen to all the problems with XP ;D :P ;D
-
They're not problems, Lona - they're extra features! ;D ;D
-
Simon :D
You have such a way with words....... I like that lol.

:o M.E.?? Quick get rid of it.... possibly the worst O/S since 95a LOL
Is it possible that problem stems from a non administrator account? HAven't looked into it at all - I just like guessing :D
-
I liked win95 :). Thought it was better than 98 :D. I also have no problems with millenium. What's so bad about it? And what am I missing out on by not having XP? ???
-
XP is the DBs Lona :D, once you get used to the new visuals and Icons etc.. its like driving down the road for the 1st time .. once youve been down it and second time you remember also its more fun finding out ;D
And its more stable than 98 and ME because its built round win 2000 Technology.. havn't had 1 blue screen of death since running XP.
Hookstar
mind you thats my humble opinion ;D
-
I'll take your word for it Hookstar, but I will put it another way, my hubby drives a BMW but I still prefer my wee Corsa ;)
-
Yep spose your right Lona .. we all get from a-b but at what speed and comfort we are willing to accept :-*
-
To really tell the truth, Hookstar, I am chicken to go mucking about with the operating system, as I am an numpty when it comes to techie things. ::) :-[

BMW = XP
Corsa = 98SE
Dodgey Cut & Shut 1985 Model Skoda with failed MOT = M.E. ;D
M.E. was microsofts attempt on making more money from the Windows 2000 (business O/S) launch. They didn't spend much time on it, and not a lot of manufacturers actually supported it fully.
Of course, if it aint broke ....... but if you ever start getting problems, well you know where I'm going. Not everyone has the problems, but maybe about 60% of M.E. users do.
-EDIT-
(IF ya get a BSOD in XP, its a hardware problem. Or a wrong/faulty driver. the o/s itself should not BSOD like ME does...!!)
