Light bulbs that are said to last for more than two decades while consuming very little energy may go on sale later this year.

I won't get my money's worth from them. ;D

Clive will make damned sure he does! ;D

Problem is that you can only get the lamps for the ceiling lights. I have a lot of wall lights and standard lamps so all I can buy are the 8 watt and 11 watt miniature fluorescents.

And eat lots of carrots? ;D

Better than sprouts... :ack:

I used to hate sprouts, but cooked properly, now I love them! :)

Give me spinach any day. :)

Sprouts are the produce of Satan! :vomit:

Philistines! You just don't know how to cool them! ;D

So what is the secret Master Chef? ;D

Philistines! You just don't know how to cool them! ;D
Actually, they're not very nice cool. :)x
If I can be arsed with the steamer, I'll use that, but otherwise, I just stick them in a pan of salted boiling water, bring it back to the boil, simmer for about 2-3 minutes, until the sprouts are bright green, then drain and serve. The worst thing to do is overcook them. They have to be fresh to be nice - and they don't stay fresh for long, even in the fridge. The older they are, the stronger the taste, so maybe you're all cooking old ones! ;D

The old ones are the best. ;D

Thanks for that Simon. Perhaps I'll give them another try this Christmas. ;)
